How to Bleed the Kubota M7060 Hydraulic System - Step by Step Guide

How to Bleed the Kubota M7060 Hydraulic System - Step by Step Guide

In order to ensure optimal performance and prevent any potential issues with your Kubota M7060 hydraulic system, it is important to bleed the system whenever air enters the hydraulic lines. Air can enter the system during routine maintenance or if any components have been replaced.

Step 1: Gather the necessary tools and materials

Before starting the bleeding process, make sure you have the following tools and materials:

  • Wrench or socket set
  • Container to catch hydraulic fluid
  • New hydraulic fluid (if needed)
  • Assistant (recommended for certain steps)

Step 2: Locate the bleeder valve

The bleeder valve is typically located near the highest point of the hydraulic system, usually on the hydraulic pump or a cylinder. Refer to your Kubota M7060's manual to find the exact location of the bleeder valve.

Step 3: Prepare the system

Ensure that the hydraulic system is turned off and the engine is cool before proceeding. It is also recommended to relieve any residual pressure in the system by slowly operating the hydraulic controls until no pressure is felt.

Step 4: Open the bleeder valve

Using a wrench or socket set, carefully open the bleeder valve counterclockwise, but do not remove it completely. This will allow any trapped air to escape. Place the container to catch the hydraulic fluid underneath the bleeder valve.

Step 5: Start bleeding the system

If you have an assistant, they can help you with this step. Start the engine and engage the hydraulic controls that are causing the issue you are trying to resolve. For example, if the hydraulic cylinder is not operating correctly, activate the control that operates that cylinder.

While the controls are engaged, observe the bleeder valve. You should see a mixture of hydraulic fluid and air being expelled from the valve. Allow the fluid to flow until no more air bubbles are present and only clean hydraulic fluid is being released. Make sure to keep an eye on the fluid level in the hydraulic reservoir and top it up with new fluid if necessary during the process.

Step 6: Close the bleeder valve

Once there are no more air bubbles coming out of the bleeder valve and the hydraulic fluid is clean, carefully tighten the bleeder valve clockwise to close it. Take care not to overtighten.

Step 7: Test the hydraulic system

With the bleeder valve closed, test the operation of the hydraulic system to ensure it is functioning correctly. Engage the controls that were causing issues previously and check for any abnormal noises, leaks, or erratic movements. If everything appears normal, you have successfully bled the Kubota M7060 hydraulic system.

Step 8: Cleanup

Dispose of the hydraulic fluid and any other materials used in a responsible manner. Clean up any spills or drips to prevent environmental contamination.

Following these steps will help you effectively bleed the Kubota M7060 hydraulic system and maintain its optimal performance. Always refer to your Kubota M7060's manual for any specific instructions or guidelines provided by the manufacturer.
