National Weather Service issues flash flood warning for Lyon County
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Lyon County, Kansas, effective until 10:00 p.m. CDT.
The warning is in effect for the following areas:
- Emporia
- Americus
- Norwich
- Hartford
- Milford
The NWS is warning of possible flash flooding in these areas due to heavy rainfall. Up to 3 inches of rain has fallen in some areas, and another 1 to 2 inches is expected.
Flash flooding can occur quickly and without warning. Residents in the warned areas should be prepared to evacuate if necessary.

- If you are in a flood-prone area, move to higher ground immediately.
