I love using this watch. I ordered it to use independently from my phone with Verizon and it works great. And it was only $5.00 to add it to my acct. I can receive text email fb. messenger weather alerts and gmail just like I would on my smartphone. The voice to text works very well and sound of calls is very good. We live in the country and as I've gotten older I didn't want to be outside without my phone if I were to fall. With this watch I just put it on and can leave my phone inside. I am intending to get one for my husband so he can call if he needs to too. I bought mine from a seller on Amazon.com, used in very good condition, and I'll buy from them again. My grandkids think its very cool. If you want to use it independently from your phone with out bluetooth be sure it works with your cell service.

Being a gadget person I knew i had to have this, I love the fact that its compatible with my phone and i use it for alot , I must say the look of it is amazing with a large screen and a motion sensor display.This watch offers a nice display as well , and the band isnt annoying like most watches it has a nice well built lock thats strong but easy to take off when you want ot off . The battery last about 2 full days using it often and barely using it lasted me almost 5 .Samsung never disappoints me with its devices.

Having owned the gear fit and gear fit2, I got this for the real estate. as a supplement to my Samsung Galaxy phone, it is perfect. I can check and reply to texts, emails and even phone calls when my phone is across the room.

But the "fit" part is waning. It does not calculate steps climbed like the Fit 2. The HR monitor is also not consistent. I get that it is older than the fit2, but I find it odd you can code it back considering step are measured off the gyro and altimeter, which I believe this has.

Battery: You'll get through the day, but don't expect to sleep with it. It is also very cumbersome in bed and annoys my wife if I spoon her (at least more than she would already be annoyed for me spooning her). As such I still use a Jawbone UP3 for fitness and sleep tracking.

Conclusion, This is not a fitness watch outside of tracking steps. It is also not a watch you would sleep in. the clasp is much better than the gear fit devices, and it is a great supplement to your phone if you are so inclined. The dynamics of the watch face and available bands also make it easy to accessorise, but I won't be selling my Invictas and Movados anytime soon.

I bought this watch off impulse rather than nessecity. I am bad with taking care of watches, but I love technology and when I saw this watch I was immediately overcome by it's beautiful display and design. I read the prior reviews and understood that samsung designed this watch to work off of a seperate app store and not android. I also like the idea that the phone can operate on it's own as a phone without the need to be connected to my phone. I haven't taken the time to really get to know how to use this watch, some funcyions are obviously easy, but I just find myself always using my phone for calls, checking emails, and texts. I do however like the fitness features such as heart rate and pedometer and do find these features very helpful. Unfortunately, I do find myself wearing a watch with no battery. Not that the charge doesnt hold, but I am just more focused on keeping my phone charged and this is just another gadget that you need to maintain.
While I do get a lot of compliments on the phone and I do continue to wear it, its really ot a nessecity and more maintenance than its worth.
