BMW M5 Oil Change Procedure

Procedure:

1. Park your BMW M5 on a flat surface and allow the engine to cool down completely.
2. Locate the oil drain plug under the engine. Place the oil drain pan beneath it.
3. Using the ratchet and the proper-sized socket, loosen and remove the drain plug. Let the oil drain completely into the pan.
4. While the oil is draining, locate the oil filter housing. Use the oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
5. Clean the mounting surface of the oil filter housing and apply a light coat of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter.
6. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten.
7. Once the oil has finished draining, carefully reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely.
8. Locate the oil filler cap on the top of the engine. Unscrew it to expose the oil filler opening.
9. Insert the funnel into the filler opening and pour the recommended amount of new oil into the engine.
10. After adding the oil, screw the oil filler cap back on tightly.
11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, then turn it off and check the oil level using the dipstick. Adjust if necessary.
12. Dispose of the used oil and old filter responsibly at a designated recycling facility.
