  1. Prepare the vehicle:
    • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
    • Securely lift the vehicle using a jack and jack stands to provide adequate access to the transmission.
  2. Locate the drain plug:
    • Refer to the vehicle's owner manual or service manual to identify the location of the transmission drain plug. It is typically located on the bottom of the transmission pan.
  3. Position a drain pan:
    • Place a drain pan underneath the drain plug to capture the old transmission fluid.
  4. Remove the drain plug:
    • Using the appropriate socket or wrench, carefully loosen and remove the drain plug, allowing the old transmission fluid to drain completely.
  5. Replace the drain plug:
    • Clean the drain plug thoroughly and reinstall it securely onto the transmission.
  6. Locate the fill plug:
    • Refer to the vehicle's manual to determine the location of the transmission fill plug. It is typically found on the side of the transmission.
  7. Attach a fluid pump:
    • Connect a fluid pump to a new bottle of appropriate transmission fluid and insert the pump into the fill plug opening.
  8. Add new transmission fluid:
    • Squeeze the fluid pump slowly to add the new transmission fluid into the transmission until it reaches the recommended level on the dipstick or as instructed in the vehicle's manual.
  9. Check the fluid level:
    • Allow the vehicle's engine to run for a few minutes and then shift through all the gears. With the engine idling, park the vehicle on a level surface and check the transmission fluid level using the dipstick. Adjust the level if necessary.
  10. Secure all plugs:
    • Makesure the drain plug and fill plug are tightly secured onto the transmission.
  11. Lower the vehicle:
    • Using a jack, carefully lower the vehicle to the ground.
  12. Dispose of the old fluid:
    • Take the old transmission fluid to an authorized facility for proper disposal according to local regulations.
